They promote the Agri-Food Sector with the 7th Entrepreneurial and Business Forum of the Food Cluster

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, December 2, 2022. The 7th Entrepreneurial and Business Forum of the Guanajuato Food Cluster was successfully held at the Viñedos San Miguel facilities. On this occasion, we extend a cordial invitation to join the Guanajuato Food Cluster, where ample opportunities were presented for the commercial exhibition of this thriving industry.

The Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE) played a key role as co-organizer of this relevant forum, facilitating business meetings between industry suppliers and international buyers, as well as offering conferences and more.

During the first half of 2022, the Guanajuato Food Industry reached the impressive figure of more than 430 million dollars, experiencing a growth of 13% compared to the previous year. This industry represents 11% of the national industry and 6% of the industry in the state of Guanajuato. Among the notable products we export are pork, sesame seeds, vegetables and jojoba oil.

The inaugural event had the distinguished presence of personalities such as Ramón Alfaro, Secretary of SDES representing the State Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo; Claudio Santoyo Vallejo, Municipal President of Comonfort; Luis Ernesto Rojas Ávila, General Director of COFOCE; Paulo Bañuelos Rosales, Secretary of Agri-Food and Rural Development of the State of Guanajuato, Juan Antonio Reus, General Director of Idea GTO; Alejandro Aboytes Macías, President of the Guanajuato Food Cluster; Francisco López Tostado, President of the State Agri-Food Council of GTO A.C.

In addition to actively participating in business meetings, COFOCE offered a conference titled “The Revolution of eCommerce in the Food Industry”, by Luis Fernando Preciado Talancón and Michael Vera, from COFOCE’s Crossborder eCommerce area.

The Agrofood Cluster, in collaboration with COFOCE and other entities that made this forum possible, aims to create meeting spaces for the various actors in the State Food Sector, promoting synergy and collaboration to improve competitiveness at an international level. Under the theme of Agrifood 4.0, the aim is to promote the automation and digitalization of this industry.

In this seventh edition, 23 national and international purchasing companies, more than 200 Guanajuato suppliers participated, and there was the collaboration of 41 exhibiting companies and 4 service modules, including the COFOCE module.

With events and actions like these, COFOCE continues to work tirelessly to promote initiatives that promote the internationalization of local companies, contributing to their growth and competitiveness.
