The state of Guanajuato reaffirms its position as a leader in the agri-food sector with the inauguration of the XXVIII edition of the Agri-Food Expo 2023. This event, backed by support of 15.2 million pesos from the State Government, is consolidated as a point crucial meeting for the most prominent actors who influence the direction and comprehensive development of the sector.
With an estimated 120 thousand attendees over four days, the Agri-Food Expo brings together Agri-Food Production Units, world leaders, national and international suppliers and marketers. More than 650 exhibitors, 50 conferences and international pavilions turn this event into a complete and unique showcase that encompasses the latest technological innovations, experimental fields with high-tech greenhouses and demonstration plots.
The Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, highlighted the strategic importance of this event, calling it “the most important agro-industrial fair on the entire continent.” Guanajuato is distinguished by the long-term continuity of its aircraft, a differentiating factor that positions it as an engine of development for the country.
In addition to the Agri-Food Expo, the commitment of the State Government is reflected in the inauguration of the State Agri-Food Council of Guanajuato A.C. and the Food Cluster of Guanajuato A.C. in Irapuato. The latter, a business organization with 27 agribusiness companies, seeks to generate synergies and collaboration to strengthen the competitiveness of the food sector in the state.
The economic and social impact of these events extends to the short, medium and long term, improving the profitability of agri-food production units and raising the living conditions of the communities involved.
Guanajuato, through initiatives such as the Agri-Food Expo and the Food Cluster, demonstrates its commitment to the sustainable development of the agro-industrial sector, consolidating itself as a reference both nationally and internationally. The continuity in the implementation of long-term plans and government support mark the pause for the constant growth of this economic pillar in the region.
